40. Tower Bridge by Night
![]() |
| London Tower Bridge |
I received another travelling card. Lately it seems my cards like to take a good tour around Europe before arriving in Spain. Jiri bought this one when he was living in London and, reading that I like nightviews, kindly sent it to me from his home in the Czech Republic. It was his last English card and he tells me he bought it because he never had the chance to see the bridge up like this. Isn't it a great view of the London Tower Bridge? I love it! ♥
Impressed? Ha! Then look at the stamp on the flip side. An amazing illustration by Marina Richterová of an expressively conducting Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with an original copy of the Don Giovanni score and the Prague's Estates Theatre in the background. It is 5.5 x 3.5 cm.

It makes the postcard more interesting, doesn't it?
Deleteoooh, I LOVE that stamp!!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed watching the flotilla and Tower Bridge lifting up the bascules in salute to the Queen yesterday.
Oh how lucky of you! I will see the photos on the magazines this week. The Bridge up like this must be a worthing sight!
DeleteWhat a cool card and an amazing stamp! I love the meandering way it arrived. It's always interesting to see where postcards arrive from (not always exactly where you think--the card from the Ukrainian girl I mentioned bought her card in Portugal while on vacation but mailed it from England). It is truly a global world, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteIt is! I always check if the postmark matches the card and where is the sender from. These travelling little things called postcards are very lucky.
